The greatest discovery in human history is the power of your mind to create the aspects of your life. Everything you see around you in the man-made world began as a thought or an idea in the mind of a single person before it was translated into reality.

Everything in your life started as a thought, a wish, a hope or a dream, either in your mind, or in the mind of someone else. Your thoughts are creative. Your thoughts enable you to envision your future. It empowers you to move forward through goal setting.

Living without clear goals is like driving in a thick fog. No matter how powerful or well-engineered your car, you drive slowly, hesitantly, making little progress on even the smoothest road. Deciding upon your goals clears the fog immediately and allows you to focus and channel your energies and abilities. Clear goals enable you to step on the accelerator of your own life and leap ahead rapidly toward achieving more of the things you really want.

The average person starts life traveling through an unmapped and uncharted world with no road map. This is the equivalent of starting off in life with no goals and plans. He or she simply figures things out as he or she goes along. Then ten or twenty years have passed, and the individual is still broke, unhappy in his or her job, dissatisfied with his or her life and feel unfulfilled. And still, he or she goes home every night and watches television, wishing and hoping that things would get better. But they seldom do. Not by themselves.

To unlock and unleash your full potential, you should start with a vision for your life. Once you have a vision for every aspect of your life you need to connect those visions with goals. Then you start the process of a living purpose driven life, with clarity and direction.

How do you vision forward? First you give yourself permission to dream. The next step is to close your eyes and tap into your imagination. Start thinking about what you would want your ideal to look like. Allow yourself to get caught up in your imagination, and just dream.

Once you have a clear vision for yourself, write the vision out, and start taking steps to manifest the vision.

A good way to keep your vision in front of you is to create a vision board. Learn how at our next Envision Your Future Masterclass –
