At some point and time in most people lives they have struggled with self-love and making themselves a priority. And unfortunately, this is a problem most women struggle with it. I want to challenge you to take a close look inward, and explore what you believe, feel, and think about the love you have, or don’t have for yourself. This is important because self-love is the foundation to your being, becoming, how you care for yourself, your happiness, and success.

Self-Love is the Gift You Give Yourself

Let’s Talk About What is Self-Love?

Self-love is a commitment to your evolution to walk in your power. Your power to be loved by yourself, others, and to love all aspects of yourself. The honoring of yourself, happiness, well-being, and ability to make yourself a priority. To live fully in your potential, continuously learning and growing into the best version of yourself, giving the best of yourself to yourself, so you give the best of yourself to others.

I know that’s a mouthful, but like I said, self-love is the foundation to so many other components of your life.

Loving yourself is IMPORTANT, but it also a challenge for many people. It is a challenge because loving you mean loving all of you – the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s about appreciating all your journey and still being able to love yourself.

The core of self-love is self-acceptance and understanding which allow you to connect and embrace the truth about yourself and live from that place in harmony. It is not a simple state of feeling good. It is knowing and understanding that you are innately worthy to be loved. It is a process, a lifetime process. As you evolve, your love for yourself should evolve as well.

I challenge you to have a love affair with yourself. Give yourself permission to love all of you. When you truly love you, you understand that self-love is not selfish. Self-love is that motivator that allows you to be intentional with choice, and to do make decisions that edify you physically, mentally, emotional, spiritually, financial, and personally. Because self-love is an intentional act to make yourself a priority, it takes time, care, and continual practice – remember it’s a process.

The process starts with a decision. A decision to give yourself permission to love yourself unconditionally. This means loving you, and your flaws.

The second step is to examine how do you really feel about you. This requires you to ask yourself a couple of questions. Do you love you? If yes, do that love reflect in your behaviors and action towards yourself?

Do you believe that you don’t deserve self-love? If yes, ask yourself why. Challenge yourself to go below the surface and see where that disbelief is rooted. If this brings about bad feelings, consider getting professional help to assist you with sorting through your feelings.

Everyone deserves to be loved, especially to be loved by themselves. Loving yourself is the greatest gift you can give you. Loving you helps set boundaries and teach people how to love and treat you. Self-love is not selfish, but necessary – it makes you more caring not only toward yourself but others around you as well.

Self-Love is the Gift You Give Yourself

Remember, love is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

Here’s to loving you!!
